Upcoming Student Events at Maine Law during the week of February 14th

Maine Law Student Animal Legal Defense Fund Meeting
Tuesday, February 15, at 12:10 pm in room 118
The Maine Law Student Animal Legal Defense Fund (S.A.L.D.F.) is having its first meeting of the Spring semester on Tuesday, February 15, at 12:10 pm in room 118.  We will be electing officers as well as planning future S.A.L.D.F. events.  We are recruiting both members and officers, so please attend if you are interested in the fascinating field of animal law.


Maine Law Students for Reproductive Justice
Wednesday, February 16th at 12:15 in the Middle Classroom
On Wednesday, February 16th at 12:15 in the Middle Classroom, Maine Law Students for Reproductive Justice will be hosting Megan Hannon, the executive director of Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, to come speak with students about the Pence and Smith bills.  These bills, if passed, would have profound impacts on reproductive and women's rights.  Have questions?  Interested to know what these bills will change?  Want to find out how you can do more to help?  Come find out!!!  Lunch with be provided!

ABA Law Student Division Spring Circuit Meeting and Governor Election!
Saturday, February 19, 2011 @ Harvard
Pack your bags for Cambridge, MA for the 1st Circuit Spring Meeting and Circuit Governor Elections!  There will be a reception on Friday evening followed by a full day of awesome speakers on Saturday from judges to a panel of legal rebels. Also, there will be resume review by Harvard Law Career Services, a "Lunch with Experience" with local professionals, and the election of your next 1st Circuit Governor as well as round table discussions with law students from other schools.

International Law Society is working to improve study abroad resources for Maine Law students and we want your help. If you have studied abroad while at Maine Law with a Maine Law program or a program from another school, whether during the school year or the summer, we want to hear about your experience. Please e-mail margaret.webb@maine.edu to fill out a quick survey that will help Maine Law students in their decision to study abroad.

Snack Drive Update
After receiving snacks purchased with money raised during the snack drive, third graders at the Nathan Clifford School sent thank you cards. Some of them are on display on the SBA bulletin board.
