Upcoming Student Group Events at Maine Law during the week of March 21st

SBA March Madness Party
Thursday, March 24 at 7 PM
Upstairs at Rivalries
The SBA will provide limited refreshments on a first come first serve basis. Specials will include: $5 pitchers, $3 20oz, half price pizza, and free admission.
Egypt in Transition: What does it mean for the Arab World and for US Policy?Monday March 28, 2011 in the Moot Court Room

The World Affairs Council, together with the International Law Society, presents a panel of experts to discuss recent events in Egypt and their implications. The panel includes: 
  • Selma Botman, President of USM, who has studied political movements in Egypt and is a scholar of modern Middle Eastern politics;
  • Mahmud Faksh, Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Southern Maine, who has published extensively on Middle East and Islamic affairs; 
  • Charles Dunbar, retired US Ambassador with a long career in the Arab world, including embassy positions in Algeria, Morocco, Qatar and Yemen; and  
  • Moderator Kathleen Kinawy Sutherland, a longtime resident in Egypt and researcher on Egyptian society, including the role of women.

Maine Law 3x3 Dodgeball Tournament: For Maine Law Students, Faculty, and Alumni
Location: Sullivan Gym
Time: Sunday March 27 from 12-3
Teams will be randomly picked on Friday March 25, 2011 and you will be advised once they are picked on who your team members are.  Last chance to sign up is Friday March 25, 2011 by noon!  I am also looking for volunteers to referee, so please let me know if you are interested in that.

To sign up please e-mail Shira.panelli@maine.edu with your name, what year you are in school, and e-mail address as soon as possible so I can get teams set.  Please speak to professors and alumni about playing!

Changes to the SBA Announcements
Beginning next week SBA Announcement will be e-mailed out on Sunday but will continue to be available on the SBA Blog (
http://sbamainelaw.blogspot.com) on Friday for students who like to plan ahead. (Club leaders should continue to send e-mails about upcoming events to SBA.MaineLaw@gmail.edu by Thursday night.) These changes are being made as a result of the comments from the survey.
