SBA and Career Services: Professional Transition - Going into the Workplace (for internships, summer associate, or full-time positions)
Tuesday, Nov. 13th at 12:10pm in the Moot Court Classroom
Happy Go Legal, LLC is hosting its final lunch and learn series on professional transition within the legal profession.
You have secured an opportunity in an office, whether it be an interview or a position in a non-profit, corporation, government, or private practice setting. Your colleagues buzz around in a flow that is extremely different from interactions with colleagues in law school, or your prior profession. We will answer questions no one wants to ask, about proper attire, how to behave in meetings, and how to communicate with colleagues. We tackle a particularly challenging scenario you may face, of delegating to an assistant or support staff, especially if they are of an older generation than you. For interview goers we cover great questions to ask when the interviewer ask “so, do you have any questions?”, what the billable hours model really means to how you spend your time, and the importance of creating and maintaining a personal business plan for your career.
Lunch will be served!
