PROFESSIONAL TRANSITION with Happy Go Legal – Going Into the Workplace (for internships, summer associate, or full-time positions)

Monday, Nov. 26th 12:10pm in the Moot Court Room
So, you're interviewing for--or maybe have already been hired for--a job with a non-profit, corporation, government, or private practice law firm.  Now what?  For interview goers we cover great questions to ask when the interviewer ask “so, do you have any questions?”, what the billable hours model really means to how you spend your time, and the importance of creating and maintaining a personal business plan for your career.  If you've already landed the job, you may find that your new colleagues buzz around in a flow that is extremely different from your interactions with fellow law students or with co-workers in your prior profession.  We'll answer questions no one wants to ask, about proper attire, how to behave in meetings, and how to communicate with colleagues.  We tackle a particularly challenging scenario you may face, of delegating work to an assistant or support staff, especially if he/she is of an older generation than you.
Event co-sponsored by the SBA and Career Services Office.
